Country Star Offers Quiet Support for Husband as Legal Battle Unfolds, Selling Mansion Days Before Lawsuit Emerges
Trisha Yearwood has quietly returned to social media amid the turmoil surrounding her husband, Garth Brooks, who is facing serious allegations of sexual assault and battery. In a recent Instagram post shared on Monday, Yearwood, 60, expressed her support for Brooks, 62, without directly addressing the accusations.
The post featured a photo of the couple performing together during Brooks’ residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Yearwood is seen passionately singing into a microphone, turning toward her husband, who is strumming his guitar. Accompanied by a simple caption—“Love One Another. #Vegas”—the post’s comments were disabled, likely signaling Yearwood’s desire to avoid public speculation.
This public display of solidarity comes in the wake of Brooks being sued by a woman, referred to in court documents as “Jane Roe,” who alleges the country music icon raped her in a hotel room in 2019. According to the lawsuit filed in California, Roe, who claims to have worked as Brooks’ hairstylist and makeup artist, detailed an alleged incident where she felt trapped and alone with the singer during a Grammys taping trip.
The lawsuit accuses Brooks of sexual assault, battery, and repeated inappropriate behavior, including exposing himself and sending sexually explicit messages. Roe also claims that Brooks often discussed sexual fantasies and would change his clothes in front of her without her consent.
In response, Brooks vehemently denied the accusations, filing a countersuit in a Mississippi court. In his complaint, the “Friends in Low Places” singer accused Roe of attempting to blackmail him for millions of dollars, and he is seeking compensatory and punitive damages for defamation, emotional distress, and invasion of privacy.
This legal drama also coincides with Yearwood’s recent sale of the couple’s mansion in Brentwood, Tennessee. The 6,553-square-foot home, featuring five bedrooms and seven bathrooms, was sold for $3.334 million. Interestingly, the sale occurred just a day before the lawsuit against Brooks was filed. Yearwood had purchased the property five years before marrying Brooks in 2005.
Despite the brewing storm, the couple was last seen together in August at the 17th Academy of Country Music Honors, where they appeared united on the red carpet. Yearwood’s decision to post their performance together, albeit with limited interaction from fans, may be her way of showing quiet strength and loyalty to her husband as he battles these serious accusations.
As the case moves forward, Brooks remains adamant about his innocence, while Yearwood’s understated show of support stands in contrast to the gravity of the situation. Both remain in the public eye as they navigate the unfolding legal fight and the scrutiny that comes with it.
