Adele Battles Rare Infection: Partial Hearing Loss and Pain ‘Worse than Childbirth’ Won’t Stop Her Show

"Despite Pain 'Worse Than Childbirth,' Adele Pushes Through for Her Fans in Las Vegas Residency"

In an unexpected health update, Grammy-winning singer Adele recently revealed that a severe ear infection has left her temporarily partially deaf in one ear, leading to some of the most excruciating pain she’s ever experienced — even surpassing the pain of childbirth. During her recent Las Vegas residency performance, the 36-year-old shared with fans her struggles with an infection caused by a rare waterborne bacteria, an unfortunate souvenir from her summer tour in Munich, Germany.

“It is the most painful thing that ever, ever happened to me in my life. It was worse than childbirth,” Adele admitted to the audience, emphasizing just how severe her discomfort had been. After initially being treated with ineffective antibiotics, her condition improved only once she received the correct medication, though she still suffers from temporary partial hearing loss in her left ear.

Despite her condition, Adele’s determination to perform remains unshaken. “There was no way I would miss this f—ing show,” she told the crowd, proving once again her dedication to her fans. She powered through her setlist, showing her commitment even in the face of a painful health setback.

A Resilient Performer Battling Health Issues

This isn’t the first time Adele has dealt with performance-related health challenges. Back in 2013, after several shows under the intense stage lights at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, she developed a fungal skin infection. She attributed this to wearing Spanx and performing in high temperatures, causing excess perspiration to be trapped under her clothing. “I sweat a lot, and it doesn’t go anywhere. So basically, I just sit in my own sweat,” she explained.

But even amid these personal challenges, Adele’s strength and poise shine through. Just last week, during her Las Vegas residency, Adele was moved to tears after spotting her idol, Celine Dion, seated in the audience with her 14-year-old twin sons. Mid-performance, Adele’s emotions overwhelmed her as she paused to embrace Dion. The two icons shared a heartfelt moment that ended with Dion holding Adele’s hand and kissing it, a display of mutual admiration that captivated the audience.

Adele’s health concerns have highlighted the toll that frequent performances and tours can take on artists, yet her resilience and dedication to her craft remain unbreakable. As she continues to recover, fans worldwide are rooting for her health and applauding her commitment.
