Country Star Rushes Off Stage to Help His Wife Deliver Their Baby on a Tour Bus Mid-Show
In a night that will forever be etched in his memory, country rocker Brantley Gilbert had to pause his Off the Rails Tour concert in Tupelo, Mississippi, for a heartwarming and unexpected reason—his wife, Amber, went into labor.
The Bottoms Up singer, 39, had just started his set at the Cadence Bank Arena when he was urgently called backstage for what was described as an “emergency.” To his amazement, Gilbert discovered that his wife was about to deliver their third child on their tour bus.
Gilbert shared the emotional journey on Instagram, capturing the intensity of the night. “Last night might have been the craziest night of my life. Watching such an amazing woman do such an amazing thing is something I’ll never forget,” he wrote.
The social media post featured snippets of a touching conversation between Gilbert and his mother, where he delivered the news that she was now a grandmother again. “Not as good as you are about to be. You got a new grandbaby,” he told her.
The video was set to his poignant 2019 ballad Man That Hung the Moon, a song about a father’s love for his son, making the moment even more heartfelt as it played against black-and-white images of Gilbert holding the newborn.
After the baby was safely delivered with the help of a midwife on the bus, Gilbert, showing true dedication to his fans, returned to the stage to share the joyous news. “We got a baby!” he proudly announced to the ecstatic crowd, who erupted in cheers.
In a heartfelt message to his supporters, Gilbert extended his gratitude, saying, “Thank you to our road family for rallying around us, Brittany Thornton for helping us bring this little dude into the world, Tupelo, Mississippi for showing us mad love and support, and most of all… Amber Gilbert, for letting me love you and showing me EXACTLY how incredibly strong a woman can be. I love you.”
The couple, who met in high school and have been married since 2015, now welcome their third child, who shares a historic birthplace with none other than Elvis Presley, also born in Tupelo. Though the baby’s name has not yet been revealed, the unforgettable circumstances of their birth are sure to be a story retold for years to come.
“We’ve got a new addition to the Gilbert family… God is good,” Gilbert shared with his followers in his Instagram stories, capping off what was truly the craziest—and most beautiful—night of his life.
